DAY TWO WORKSHOP

Thursday 5th November 2009

LIFT-OFF TO LEARNING!

Infusing Thinking in Inquiry-based Learning

As we teach for deeper understanding in constructivist classrooms, how might we best apply the wide range of thinking strategies at our disposal?

This day workshop works systematically through the various phases of the Inquiry Approach to teaching and learning, suggesting when is it best to:
<< Use structures like Blooms Taxonomy >>
<< Introduce tools of critical and creative thinking or apply graphic organisers >>
<< Provide questioning frameworks for students >>
<< Integrate ICT to develop skills and enhance student products >>

This workshop will suit teachers at all levels of schooling who already have a solid understanding of a range of thinking tools but want to know where best to place them to maximise their impact.
A more conceptual approach to planning and programming will be introduced during this most practical and interactive day.
